I write to you today with the March ticket update. At this time in our pandemic, we are getting anxious and have a desire to participate in our arts culture. Today I write to tell you that we will all have to wait a little longer. Although there is a promise on the horizon, the performances scheduled for March, The Capitol Steps, and Forever Young, are still a bit soon to be performed live. Please see specific details about each of the two shows below.
Forever Young
- Performances subject to change. If a show is replaced with another performance a patron’s ticket will be honored for the like replacement performance. If a show has a date change the patron’s ticket will be honored on the new date.
THE CAPITOL STEPS
Working with and training artists is thoroughly thrilling, which is what made the following announcement difficult for me to hear from the agent of The Capitol Steps. Not only will The Capitol Steps suspend performances this season, but they have decided to shut down entirely. A statement from the steps is below.
“WE are sad to announce that the Capitol Steps are planning to shut down. Like many in the entertainment business, we simply weren’t built to survive going a year or more without live performances.
On the bright side, when we first started as a Senate office Christmas party, we never imagined we would travel the country and perform for 39 years! It’s been a fun ride!”
We know many of you have been viewing our streamed events and we hope you will all join us virtually until this intermission ends, at which time we may gather and celebrate the arts together.
Our goal for upcoming performances will be to provide you with updates, as it relates to COVID-19 and the status of performances, three weeks prior to any event.
