Slighted by the omission of an invitation to the baby Princess Aurora’s christening, Caribosse casts the dark curse of death at the prick of a finger, upon the princess. The protective Lilac Fairy had not bestowed her christening gift and was able to soften the curse to a spell of slumber until awoken by the kiss of her true love.
